The Philosophy

BIOLOGICAL – ORGANIC MEANS HOLISTIC THINKING. OUR MOST IMPORTANT TASK IS TO PRESERVE AND PROMOTE SOIL FERTILITY.

All or nothing – because half measures don’t work, we followed our basic philosophy in 2008 and converted our entire operation to organic farming. The goal is to preserve healthy vineyard soils even for future generations.

We green our vineyards with a seed mixture specifically formulated for each vineyard, tailored to the individual needs of each site. Homemade teas made from German chamomile, yarrow, and nettle form another cornerstone for healthy and resilient vines. The secret to a functioning “vineyard” ecosystem lies in its biodiversity, which must be promoted and supported. It is clearly evident that the healthier the soil, the more diverse the plant and soil organisms, the more vital the vines. They are more robust against diseases and can withstand stressful situations much better. The wines become more brilliant and full of character.
