Wine

The Origin
We are deeply rooted with the origin of our grapes. For us, each vineyard has not only the name of the vineyard, but also its traditional name. So we don’t refer to the Hofstätte vineyard, but to the ‘Lotte’. In our region in particular, with its small structures in terms of both soil structure and microclimate, there are subtle differences even within a single vineyard as to whether the grapes will produce a classic wine or a reserve.
Following the confusion caused by the new labelling regulations, which are a sign of the headless world of globalisation, we have found a system that at least allows us to maintain our connection to the origin of our wines. The single vineyard wines are clearly defined, they bear the vineyard name as usual and are medium-bodied to full-bodied wines with body and ageing potential. Some wines now have to conceal their vineyard location and thus their origin, so we give them their own name, which for us always means a story connected with their origin. These are wines ranging from light summer wines to grand reserves. Kirschleiten has been our house name for over a hundred years and stands for all wines in the classic line.
The grapes for all our wines are harvested exclusively by hand and have a provenance; they all come from our vineyards, regardless of whether the label says Klosterneuburg, Wagram, Lower Austria, Weinland or Austria.
